Look Out: BOOK-SPINE POETS are on the Loose at Nancy Kay Holmes!

Hello!

Our Tween Team is obsessed with creating Book Spine Poetry at the library!  Their challenge: find 4 or 5 random books that create a poem when the books' spines are aligned, like this:

nerds
caught between the pages
unraveling
candy
 and this one:
late, late at night
the giver
speak
the secrets of peaches

 and this:
Johnny Tremain
hush, hush
wanted!
little brother

Can I tell you how amazed I am with our team's poetry?!  And, how impressed I am with their excitement over this challenge?!  I suggested it - once - as a quick activity, but they're having so much fun with it (more than I had expected!) and they ask to do it again each week!

If YOU would like to try your luck at discovering and creating Book Spine Poetry with us, our next Tween Team meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday, October 10th, 5:00-6:00pm.  Games, crafts, snacks, and more!  Kids age 9-12 are invited!  Bring a friend!  Pre-registration is required; call the library at 207-0764 to say you'll be here!

See you soon,
Miss Katie
