Greetings from the library!

On Monday, we had a visit from the Everhart Museum! They read an African tale called The Leopard's Drum and then led the children in a colorful paper cut craft! Check out all the beautiful colors!

Around the World Drumming with Deerheart tonight!

Greetings from the library!

Join us tonight for Around the World Drumming with Deerheart at 5:30 pm! Thomas Deerheart is a master drummer, drum builder and drum facilitator. Thomas was at the library in April for a very successful
Green Drumming program where a mother said, "This is the best program that has ever come to the library!"

Children will have a chance to learn simple drum beats on a number of different drums. Musical skills not necessary! Join us for a fun and interactive rhythm circle!

Are you smarter than a caveman?

Greetings from the library!

On Tuesday, we were visited by our paleontologist friends Mike and Roberta Straka! They presented the program Mastodons, Cavemen and Bears-Oh My! We learned about the Ice Age and life of cavemen! We saw a casting of a 60,000 year old Neanderthal man, fossils and early tools of humans! We even played a game, "Are You Smarter Than a Caveman?" And guess what! We were! Check out all the fun we had!

A special thank you to the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority for providing funding support for this really great program!

Join us next week on Monday for a visit from the Everhart Museum!

Thursday, June 23rd, Thomas Deerheart will be joining us again for Around the World Drumming with Deerheart! Children will learn simple drum beats with a chance to try a number of different drums! All ages are welcome! Program starts at 5:30 pm! Call 207-0764 to register!
