Happy 154th Birthday to the Pencil Eraser!

Hello Friends,

Did you know the pencil eraser was patented 154 years ago today? We read imaginative stories about pencils and erasers, and crayons too. Then we rolled up our sleeves and created colorful scenes using only pencil erasers and stamp pads. This was our inspiration:

My guy is smiling because he just pulled the special pencil eraser from the jar, and he won four free tickets to see Stuart Little at the Scranton Cultural Center tomorrow! Congratulations!

Foil Painting at Family Place Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 28th!

Family Place Workshops resume tomorrow, Wednesday, March 28th, 10:00-11:15am. We will be experimenting with painting on foil!

Family Place Workshops include free play, storytime, songs and a craft. Family Place Workshops are intended for children ages Birth thru Three Years (older siblings are welcomed!) and their parents/caregivers. Hello, Friends!

Cats and Shoes (and Lots of Paint!) Storytime

Hello, Friends!

This morning's storytime featured one of my favorite new books - Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes, and two other favorites - Whose Shoes and Nobody's Nosier Than a Cat. We played "Pin-the-Shoe on Pete the Cat", and we painted our white shoes various colors, just like we saw in our story. Only a few photos of today's fun:
