A few reminders for you:

Winter Reading Club ends Friday, February 18th! Return your completed reading log to the library by February 28th to receive your prize and certificate of completion!

You must be registered for Winter Reading Club at the Nancy Kay Holmes Branch to attend the Winter Reading Club Closing Party on Thursday, February 24th. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for this event! Join us for festive face painting and Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream! Call 207-0764 to register!

Join us Thursday at 5:30 pm for the new Collage Club! We will be using recycled magazines to create decoupage collages! This club is open to anyone in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade! Call 207-0764 with any questions and to register.

Congratulations, Raffle Winners!

Kids in the Kitchen!

The Junior League of Scranton will be at the library tonight at 5:30 pm for a special storytime! Children will learn about the Food Guide Pyramid and make a Valentine's Day themed healthy snack!

Elmo's Birthday Party Storytime!

We had a great group at the library to celebrate Elmo's birthday! A very special thank you to Wegmans of Dickson City for donating the beautifully decorated and delicious Elmo birthday cake!

Mosaic Suncatchers!

For the January Arts & Craft Club, I wanted to create something that inspired us to look out our windows and smile during this wild winter! These bright mosaic sun catchers were the perfect thing!

The Magic of Storytime

Greetings from the library!

It seems like the Nancy Kay Holmes Library is the place to be this winter! Storytime has been packed with children ready to hear new stories, dance, sing and be creative with a craft. I walk away from storytime truly inspired by each child and the craft they create. Here is a glimpse at that inspiration.

January 21st was National Hugging Day. We celebrated by reading hug stories and making a BIG HUG to take home and give to someone they love.

January was Nation Thank You month. We read stories that said Thank You and made a Thank You card.

On Monday, we had a special Groundhog Day storytime! "Mom, look! I can see his shadow!" said Dallin.

Snow! Snow! Snow! A storytime all about snow with a coffee filter snowflake craft! It's snowing in the library!

Happy Birthday, Elmo!

Greetings from the library!

Need out of the house after the two-day storm? I've got the perfect event for you!

Elmo's Birthday Party Storytime! This Thursday at 5:30 pm! We will be reading Elmo stories, singing Elmo songs, making a craft and playing birthday games! An Elmo birthday cake from Wegmans will be provided!

January Arts & Crafts Club

Hello there!

For January's Arts & Crafts Club, I thought it would be nice to make something that inspires us to feel happy when we look out the window. It's getting close to the mid way point of Winter and let's face it: it's been really cold, gloomy and snowy!
