Scranton Police Dog at our Library!

Hello, Library Friends!

Our young friends (and their parents) are STILL excitedly talking about our recent visitors, Scranton Police Officer Kemp and his partner, Officer Ecko.  Officer Kemp spoke to us about what it's like to work with Officer Ecko, and our friends got the opportunity to meet Officer Ecko up close and in person.  Check out these photos of our very special storytime:

Appreciative thanks to Officer Kemp and Officer Ecko for their visit!  We had a great time and we hope you'll come back again!

Thanks to our library friends for asking such great questions about Officer Ecko, and for making our guests feel welcome!

See you next time at the library!
xoxo, Miss Katie

WORMS and MUD and DIRT, Oh My!

Hello, Library Friends!

What do you get when you combine WORMS and MUD and DIRT at the library?  A very special Storytime Snack!  Recently, in honor of Earth Day, my friends and I read one of my all-time favorites, Diary of a Worm, by Doreen Cronin:

We also read Just How Long Can a Long String Be?!
by Keith Baker, and as we were creating our own ideas about what a length of string can be used for...

...someone discovered REAL EARTHWORMS were hanging out in our Children's Room!

My buddies are eating "Dirt Dessert":

This is my boyfriend "M" declaring "This is the BEST LIBRARY EVER!!!"
Thanks, "M"!  We think so too!  Thanks for stopping in, and having so much fun with us!

See you soon!
xoxo, Miss Katie

It's a "Napping House" kinda day...

Yaaawwwwnnn....Hello!  This dreary Monday morning weather put us in the mood to read one of my favorite stories of all time:
 one of my newest favs:
 and the always entertaining:
My friends did a terrific job sharing their "snoring" sounds with me as we read these sleepy stories!

Then we created our very own Napping Houses using our creative problem-solving skills!  Miss Katie "accidentally" (oops!) mixed up piles of squares and rectangles and triangles, large and small, so we had to identify and evaluate the size and scale of each piece, before putting the pieces together to make our own homes.  Take a look at theses houses constructed by future architects/contractors/ exterior designers!

Thanks for a fun morning!  See you at our next Storytime, Friday morning at 11:30am.  All ages.  No registration required.  Have a fantastic week!
xoxo, Miss Katie
